#14JuneWorldBloodDonorDay: Roll up your sleeves and save a life

You don’t have to be a superhero to save a life, simply donate blood.

Got 30 minutes to spare? Why not enjoy your lunch break at your local South African National Blood Service (SANBS) donor centre?

Blood stocks are running critically low but continuous donation could ensure that safe blood supply is always available.

Join SANBS on June 14 in celebration of World Blood Donor Day.

A single pint of blood can save the lives of up to three people, so pop into Benoni SANBS at 42 Fourteenth Avenue, Northmead from 10:00 to 18:00.

For more information contact the centre on 011 897 4951.

To become a blood donor, you must:
• Be between the ages of 16 and 75 years

• Weigh 50kg or more

• Be in good health

• Lead a healthy lifestyle
