Former classmates share memories during reunion

“This reunion rekindled old friendships which will continue into the future.”

The William Hills Secondary School’s class of 1997 held its reunion at CR Swart Dam on May 13.

Attended by around 30 former classmates, with some flying from Durban, the event was celebrated with laughter, fun and enthusiasm.

Members of the organising committee are: (from left) Vanessa Ratty, Preshnee Naicker, Vidya Theophilus and Irshad Raju.

The reunion began with a moment of remembrance for those who have passed away. This was followed by a special awards ceremony where each class member was awarded for sharing a memory of a funny moment they remember from their time as learners.

“It was touching to see old classmates enjoying each other’s company and having fun together, just like in our school days.

“This reunion rekindled old friendships which will continue into the future,” said organising committee member Vidya Theophilus.

A memento.

Each member also received a specially-made token of remembrance to reminisce about the day and, after all the formalities, they enjoyed a leisurely lunch.

Theophilus thanked the five-member organising committee for their tireless work to ensure the event was a success, also sending an appreciation to Jozi Halaal Caterers for the food and former classmate Estee Hanna Lazarus and Koogan Pillay for their cupcakes and platters.
