Benoni SPCA rabies vaccination outreach a success

The SPCA handed out pet food, dog collars, water and food bowls.

A number of cats and dogs were recently vaccinated against rabies during the Benoni SPCA’s outreach programme in Farrarmere Gardens.

The team, consisting of inspector Thomas Mohlake, William Maseko and SPCA manager Darryn Potgieter, stationed themselves under a tent in one of the streets.

Residents brought their pets for vaccination, deworming and had their dogs dipped.

The SPCA team also handed out pet food, dog collars, water and food bowls to pet owners.

Animal lovers were also encouraged to have their dogs sterilised.

According to Potgieter, they also used the opportunity to discuss basic animal care and husbandry.

Anyone willing to contribute to the Benoni SPCA outreach team by sponsoring a sterilisation should contact the society on 011 894 2814.
