The Kamohelo Community Development Centre in Daveyton displayed love and kindness to 51 elderly people during their Valentine’s Day celebration on February 27.
Dressed in red and white clothing, the elderly enjoyed the time to unwind and converse with their peers while dancing to love tunes.
They were also surprised with gifts as a sign of appreciation for the senior citizens.
According to the centre’s project manager, Joy Morotolo, they hosted the event to show love to the elderly because they are a neglected group.
The elderly were also encouraged to report any crimes committed against them, even if it was by their children.
Ward 71 Clr Thembinkosi Lubisi made the day extra special with his donation of food and drinks.
