Author found solace in writing after her father’s death

Abigail Munyai has published her first book titled ‘From the view of a preachers kid’

Crystal Park resident and author Abigail Munyai has penned an insightful book titled From the View of a Preacher’s Kid, which seeks to empower the reader to embrace every season of their life.

Released in 2020, the book, which has seven chapters, narrates the various phases of her life, including the stereotypical expectations of being a pastor’s child, the death of her parents and falling pregnant out of wedlock.

The book elaborates on how Abigail went as far as paying her own bride price to lessen the shame of falling pregnant out of wedlock.

The last few chapters of the book shares how she managed to regain her identity, pursue her destiny and find ‘Mr Right’.

Abigail said the death of her beloved father motivated her to write the book.

From the View of a Preacher’s Kid was released in 2020.

“When my father died in 2006, it was hard to voice my pain so I decided to write whatever I was feeling. One letter became a word, one word became a sentence and before I knew it, it was a complete book.

“While writing the book, I became more awakened about myself and I decided to use this opportunity not to just tell my story but to impact the lives of people,” she said.’

The 30-year-old mother said the book is for people from all walks of life.

“My story is quite unique because in each chapter there’s a poem, a quote or an open letter. This may be appealing to people enticed by creative arts, such as poetry,” Abigail said.

Besides being an author, she is an accountant by profession, a motivational speaker, a counsellor and an ordained prophetess.

The book is available on Abigail’s website, www.abigailmunyai.com, or on Amazon, Ebooks, Google play books, Rakuten Kobo, Alkebulan Authors Platform, Barnes and Noble, the book depository, Wize Books, World of books, Booktopia, Ebay, Krisostomus, Payhip, Redshelf and Saxo.
