St Dunstan’s College achieves 100 per cent pass rate

94 per cent of the learners achieved bachelor’s degree exemptions.

Recording a 100% pass rate, St Dunstan’s class of 2022 has produced outstanding results in the 2022 IEB matric examinations.

Despite challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic while in Grade 10 and 11, the Class of 2022 have successfully pulled through, making the college proud.

Out of the 92 learners who sat for the Independent Examinations Board (IEB) examination, 94 per cent of the learners achieved bachelor’s degree exemptions.

Three learners from the school shone brightest as they bagged eight and seven distinctions.

Ronan Burger, Rayyan Rauf and Dominic Martins achieved distinctions in all their subjects. Ronan’s average placed him in the IEB’s outstanding achievement list as he achieved within the top five per cent in six or more subjects.

He further achieved 100 per cent in mathematics and a rating level of seven in life orientation.

He will study BSc Mathematics at the University of Cape Town.

Rayyan and Dominic bagged seven distinctions each and will study Medicine and Actuarial Science at the University of Witwatersrand, respectively.

According to the rector of the school, Warwick Taylor, they are immensely proud of their learners who achieved outstanding results through the support they received from the staff, educators and parents.

“Achieving these kind of results is about community. The overall picture of the results shows that all our departments are delivering at a high level,” he said.

The deputy head of academics, Allan Lachenicht, said: “We are very proud of every learner who worked hard and contributed positively in many areas of school life. Each learner has achieved the best of their potential.”

Elie Katubadi
Nicole Marais
Giuliana Millard
Kelly Morris
Maliyha Naidoo
Chantel Vasconcelos and Tristan White (top 1% in geography).
