According to teacher Khabonina Tsotetsi, the language was introduced in 2018 and none of the children in the 2022 class ever studied IsiZulu at primary school level.

“Some of these learners only changed to IsiZulu in Grade 10. We had 23 learners. We got 12 distinctions, 10 level six and one level five.

“I’m elated and proud of my learners. They have performed beyond my expectation. They have made history as the first cohort to do IsiZulu. We thank our principal for having allowed the introduction of the language,” Tsotetsi said.
