Benoni SPCA Cheer Fund closes at R36 740

Individuals and companies came on board to donate towards the fund, which kicked off on October 1.

The Benoni SPCA have expressed gratitude to everyone who dug deep into their pockets to donate towards the Christmas Cheer Fund this year.

The society managed to pull through with a whopping amount of R36 740.

This year’s donation was slightly less than the previous amount of R62 950.

Initially, the society hoped to raise R100 000 to assist towards funding various projects at the Benoni SPCA.

The general manager of the Benoni SPCA, Darryn Potgieter has thanked everyone who donated.

“We would like to thank all of our supporters who donated to us over the 2022 period. We are overwhelmed by the generosity of the community who have come together to support the Benoni SPCA,” said Potgieter.

The donations opened early in October and run until the end of December.

The purpose of the Christmas Cheer Fund is to raise funds to cater for the needs of all the furry friends that need to be fed and to provide Christmas and new year’s treats to destitute pets during this period.
