Liverpool Secondary School has won the National Participatory Educational Technique competition.
The school received this accolade following their road safety project headed by Grade 11 learners and Mrs Tazkiya Khan.
The learners identified road safety problems in Actonville. Through statistics and after extensive research, they came up with solutions to these problems.
They then put together a presentation which was submitted to the Gauteng East education department.
The school was then selected to participate in the national competition, which they eventually won.
Chairperson of the school’s SGB Zunaid Seedat commented: “As the SGB, we take this opportunity to congratulate the learners. We hope this will inspire all the learners and educators too.”
