Hospital Road dump closed

The dump site is set to reopen before the weekend

The Northmead dump on Hospital Road will be closed to clear the refuse removal backlog and ensure that all local dumpsites can function optimally.

According to Ward 27 Clr Lornette Joseph, teams were on site to empty the designated skips and clear overflowing refuse. This is after it was discovered that medical waste had been dumped at the facility.

“Huge progress has been made at the site. However, it is not safe for the public,” she said.

“The matter of the medical waste is being investigated.”

The dump is expected to be open to the public by November 17. While work at the site continues, members of the public are urged to refrain from dumping outside the facility.
