Help youngster attend World Series

She needs a total of R31 554 to be able to attend the tournament.

It was indoor cricketer Bruzaan Goosen’s hard work that saw her being selected for the team to participate in the Indoor Cricket Juniors World Series in Dubai next year, maybe in vain.

The ISE Boksburg player is pleading for financial assistance to represent South Africa at the global series in the Middle East.

The 10-year-old was recently awarded her national colours following trials by Indoor Cricket South Africa (ICSA) in October at the Valhalla Sports Centre in Irene. She is part of South Africa’s 20-member squad.

“It’s my pleasure to congratulate you, on behalf of the executive committee, on your selection to the SA ‘A’ World Series junior ladies team of ICSA and the SAICF,” said SAICF’s Elrich van der Venter.

Originally the tournament was supposed to be held at the Fourways Action Sports Arena but was moved to the UAE as the World Indoor Cricket Federation (WICF) is anticipating more teams to enter the competition due to the Middle Eastern nation’s geographical reach.

It will take place from September 30 to October 7.
