Benoni SAPS members scoop up awards

Members were honoured the District Excellence Awards

Members stationed at the Benoni Police Station were honoured for their hard work and dedication at the district’s Excellence Awards, on October 27.

Two officers for the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences unit (FCS), Detective Captain Anrika Bell and Sergeant Kaizer Mbele each received awards based on the overall conviction rate of their cases.

“I am blessed with a team of dedicated officers, who work tirelessly to ensure that every case that our unit receives is promptly and accurately investigated to ensure that perpetrators are brought to book,” said unit commander Colonel Cecile Veldman.

“These two officers’ dedication has been recognised through these awards and has set a high, but achievable standard for all team members.

“I am proud of the work being done by our unit and I thank them for their unwaveringly hard work.”

John Malinga was also honoured to receive both district and provincial awards for admin employee of the year.

“We would like to congratulate this trio of staff members on their accolades,” said Captain Nomsa Sekele, spokesperson for the police station.

“We are proud to have such dedicated members as part of our team.”

Detective Captain Anrika Bell and Sergeant Kaizer Mbele are officers from the Family Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offences unit (FCS).
