A case of reckless and negligent driving has been opened

Several people were taken to hospital on the morning of October 10 following an accident involving a VW Polo Vivo and two minibus taxis at the intersection of Laries Street and Kopie Motebang Road in Etwatwa.

According to the EMPD’s Lerato Monyane, the driver of the Polo overtook when it was not safe, which led to the driver of a silver Toyota Quantum losing control of his vehicle and plunging into a nearby lake.

“The Polo driver continued driving and then collided head-on with another Quantum.

“He was slightly injured while the driver of the Quantum and a passenger sustained serious injuries.

“The driver of the first Quantum involved in the accident and a passenger also sustained minor injuries,” said Monyane.
