UPDATE: Night vigils to be held for Rynfield vet

Residents are urged to bring their fur babies, flowers, notes for the family and ribbons

Two night vigils will be held to honour the life of Dr Jessie Coleman of Longlife Veterinary Hospital – September 30 at 18:30 and October 1 at 10:00, at the vet premises at 93 Honiball, Rynfield

Attendees are urged to bring their fur babies, flowers, notes for the family and ribbons or strips of material to tie around the surrounding trees.

Dr Coleman was murdered on his farm near Delmas in the early hours of September 27.

Flowers have been placed outside Dr Jessie Coleman’s practice where he worked as a veterinarian.

Police found him lying motionless in a pool of blood with his hands and feet tied.

The motive for the killing is not unknown and police are appealing for information that could lead to the arrests of the suspect(s).

The City Times visited the Longlife Veterinary Hospital on September 28 and found flowers placed outside the practice wall as community members mourn his death.

Following his death, tributes have poured in on Facebook sharing how Dr Coleman has impacted their lives and that of their animals.
