Coaches and learners taught critical skills

The aim of the event was to equip local coaches with the necessary skills to fast-track sport development in the area.

The Wattville-Actonville Sports Forum recently hosted a sports development day for various sporting codes and a hockey coaching clinic for primary and secondary school learners in Wattville.

Children were taught critical skills for chess, table tennis and darts and the Fun in Action hockey programme was held by South Africa Hockey Association (SAHA) and Eastern Gauteng Hockey Association (EGHA).

According to SAHA, Fun in Action hockey is a modified introductory version of the game and fundamental skills programme for primary and secondary schools learners.
