Police link Pretoria suspects to Benoni burglaries

The suspects stole multiple electronic devices and appliances in Benoni this month

Police arrested three people linked to various cases, including house break-ins committed in Benoni this month.

The trio were arrested on September 13 in Pretoria after they were found in possession of various burglary implements.

According to Gauteng police spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Mavela Masondo, a team comprising of Gauteng Highway Patrol Unit, Gauteng Traffic Police Saturation Unit, BadBoyz Security, Tracker Connect and FRS-Falcon Risk Solutions brought a halt to a gang responsible for house robberies, burglaries and theft in Gauteng and other provinces.

“The team was monitoring their movements up until three suspects were spotted in Pretoria North, driving in a Haval, and the team pounced on them.

“Upon searching the vehicle, exhibits and various house break-in implements were recovered and the suspects were arrested and their vehicle impounded,” said Masondo.

Masondo said it is alleged that the suspects stole multiple electronic devices and appliances in burglaries committed in Benoni.

He added that the police have established that the suspects have been arrested before for committing similar offences.
