As part of the launch of the Ekurhuleni Metro’s Women’s Month celebrations, a team of 100 female law enforcement officers from the EMPD, SAPS and Gauteng Traffic Police conducted a roadblock on the N17 highway on August 4.
A total of 1 159 vehicles were stopped and 900 persons were searched.
A further R40 000 was recovered in unpaid fines that had been escalated to warrants of arrests.
