#BenoniDerbyCup: Northerns Triumph over Old Bens

The Old Bens U10 Impala team and Benoni Northerns U8 team got their Benoni Derby Cup campaign off to a flyer on October 27.

At the Old Bens Sports Club, Old Bens U8s faced off with Northerns, with the visitors securing a convincing 48-run victory.

Northerns’ batsmen set a solid foundation, scoring effectively and placing pressure on their opponents throughout the innings, finishing on 154/8.

Though the hosts fought hard, they were unable to chase down the total, ending on 106/6 in their 20 overs.

Meanwhile, at the Benoni High School oval, Northerns’ U10s continued their team’s winning form, defeating Old Bens by seven wickets.

The match showcased some impressive bowling and batting from Northerns, who managed to restrict Old Bens to148/8 in 25 overs while maintaining a steady rate to chase down the target in 17.2 overs (149/3).
