Scholars found in possession of dagga

The school grounds and learners’ were searched during the operation.

Learners at Noorderlig Gekombineerde Skool were found in possession of cigarettes, lighters and dagga, during a multi-disciplinary blitz, on October 9.

According to CoE spokesperson Zweli Dlamini, members of the EMPD’s Social Crime Prevention Unit along with the SAPS and Gauteng traffic wardens, descended on the Crystal Park school, shortly after 09:00 to conduct a search of the premises and learners.

“It is noted with great concern that illegal substances were found in the possession of some of the learners,” he said.

“However, information from a reliable source led to the arrest of a 27-year-old man in Totius Road. It is alleged that he was selling dagga to learners.”

The suspect was found in possession of 16 packets of product and cash.
