Police have launched an investigation into the fatal shooting of Rivoni Secondary School’s deputy principal, at the Chris Hani Mall, in Vosloorus, on October 8.
According to Gauteng Department of Education’s spokesperson, Steve Mabona, the victim was attending a meeting relating to a case involving one of his colleagues.
MEC Matome Chiloane extended his heartfelt condolences to the victim’s family, colleagues and the entire school community.
“We are heartbroken by this senseless killing of our dedicated educator,” said Chiloane.
Police are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting and the department has activated psycho-social support services for those affected by the tragedy.
