Rugby player to lead Valke U15 IPT side

He is be among 15 Northerns players representing the Valke in the tournament.

Utility forward Logan van Rhyn is looking forward to representing the Valke U15 team during the week-long juniors’ interprovincial tournament (IPT) in KZN that started this morning (September 23).

Van Rhyn, who plays as an eighth man but can play anywhere on the back row, will also captain the provincial side on the tour.

The Hoërskool Brandwag learner is honoured to represent the union and hopes to lead his team to success.

“I love the game and have been playing since primary school. I’m always excited every time I run onto the field to start playing,” he said.

The youngster is a regular feature for his school’s U15A side and also represented the Valke in U15 Rhino Week at the Vaal University of Technology in Vanderbijlpark in June and July.

Van Rhyn will be joined by his club teammate Cayden Strydom in the Valke IPT team. Northerns has a total of 15 players representing the province’s U13, U15 and U16 sides.
