Walk comes off with flying colours

The fourth annual Neon Walk was a resounding success.

Hundreds of revellers again flooded The Drive around the Korsman Bird Sanctuary on September 7 to participate in the fourth annual Neon Walk.

Dressed in psychedelic pink and lime, community members turned up in droves in support of the Benoni Ladies Forum’s (BLF) popular fundraising event.

The festivities began at the Aubrey Ritz Park pop-up market, where the aroma of freshly prepared street food filled the air.

While one could hear music across the pan, the kids were heard laughing when they enjoyed the various fun activities, including a jumping castle, a petting zoo and crafts.

Preparing fresh toppings for their gourmet pizzas are Amaan (11), Tahseen and Tayeeya (nine) Malida.

“We could not have asked for a better turnout,” said one of the organisers, Amina Bhabha.

“We are incredibly grateful for the community’s continued support, which, in turn, helps us with our outreach projects. The walk is evolving annually, and we are excited to see what new features we may incorporate next year.”
