Gymnasts return with 49 medals

They helped SA to 49 medals.

The Eagles Tumbling Club gymnasts raised the country’s flag high when they represented SA in a friendly competition against Mauritius on August 10 at the University of Mauritius.

The 25 tumblers were among the 69 gymnasts selected by the SAArerialnastix Federation to showcase their skills and do battle for the country in this exhibition competition. They returned home with a total of 49 medals.

The club’s founder, Cindy McCall-Peat, thanked the young Eagles tumbler for helping Team SA shine in the competition.

“Our gymnasts’ dedication and excellence shone brightly in their outstanding performances. Team SA returned triumphant with 18 gold, 22 silver and nine bronze medals. The results speak volumes about the high standard of our training and unwavering commitment of our athletes,” said McCall-Peat.

The SAAerialnastix Federation is already planning to send another team to Mauritius in 2026.

McCall-Peat said those interested in joining her club can contact her on 082 851 8667.
