SPCA charity shop now bigger and better

The Benoni SPCA charity shop now looks bigger and better.

The Benoni SPCA charity shop is a good starting point to help you get what you want while saving money.

Over the past month, the charity shop underwent a massive revamp to improve its space and increase sales.

The upgraded and refreshed store, situated on the Benoni SPCA’s premises at 3 Klein Street, Lakefield, now boasts a variety of second-hand items such as men’s and women’s clothing, wedding dresses, DVDs, picture frames, bedding sheets, toys, CDs and electrical equipment which are sold at a reasonable price.

Benoni SPCA’s fundraising organiser, Monique Quenet, said they hope the refurbished shop will now prove popular to residents.

“We decided to revamp the shop because it was cluttered. I believe that when you walk into a shop it should be open and airy so you can see what’s happening. As the SPCA we have a duty to present what has been donated to us in the best possible way.

“The charity shop raises a lot of money every month, so we needed it to be more profitable for us to continue improving the lives of animals in Benoni.”

Quenet said the interesting change to the shop is the library room which now looks cosy and colourful.

She attributed the success and growth of the organisation to the public who they rely on for donations.

“We depend on the charity shop’s income as it assists with running of the Benoni SPCA.”

The charity shop operates Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 16:00 and Saturdays from 8:30 to noon.

Donations of any kind are welcome. For more information, contact Benoni SPCA on 011 894 2814.
