#MandelaDay: St Dunstan’s donate to Hospice

“The school continues to set a remarkable example of how community and compassion go hand in hand.”

Armed with toys, clothing and household goods, learners of St Dunstan’s College elected to make a positive impact on Mandela Day, by supporting Hospice East Rand’s ‘Bring a Thing’ initiative.

Staying true to its ethos of giving back, the school collected pre-loved items to donate to the organisation’s nine charity shops.

“Sales generated through our shops in turn assist members of the community in need of palliative care to access our services despite not having a medical aid,” said Jonquil Siepman, Hospice East Rand media liaison.

“While the school’s marimba band performed festive tunes, learners, staff and parents delivered their contributions thus illustrating its collective spirit of community.”
