Acting world opens for Moashetsi

“I reckon this is only the beginning of great things to come, and I’m working hard to bag more roles.”

Chief Albert Luthuli Park resident Tebogo Moashetsi got his breakthrough in the performing arts after landing a role in the Mzansi Magic telenovela Champions.

Moashetsi will play the character of Jomo on the show, which revolves around the Modise family that owns and runs the football team Soshanguve Giants.

He was booked on March 28 and began shooting on April 2. He will debut on July 1, starring alongside household names like veterans Sello Maake ka Ncube, Tumisho Masha and Jo-Anne Reyneke.

“It’s a dream come true for me because I’m sharing sets with those I idolise like Sello Maake ka Ncube, Kwenzo Mthembu and a colleague who has become a friend, Thato Dithebe,” said Moashetsi.

“I reckon this is only the start of great things to come, and I’m working hard towards bagging more roles.”

The thespian hopes his achievements inspire and motivate aspiring local actors and actresses to work hard to achieve their goals.

“I hope to encourage and motivate others to work hard towards their goals. I also want to help others make it in the industry. That’s why Knowledge Shabangu, Yandisile Gqibazonke and I started a production agency called Township Dreamers to help upcoming actors.”

Champions airs on Mzansi Magic, Channel 161, on weekdays at 19:00.
