Curled under extravagant blankets, more than 70 felines waited to make their appearance at the judges’ table during the Cat Fanciers’ Club of South Africa Championship Cat Show on May 11.
Hosted at the Benoni Christian School, muffled meows could be heard as the contestants’ owners primped kitties of every breed.
Awesome Bengals African Dreams, owned by Lorraine Kennard of Pretoria, was named the cat of the day, with Riandi Fourie of Rynfield’s Mice-tro a Sealpoint Persian, claiming the title of best longhair neuter.
During the event, cat food was collected in aid of The Murphy Cat Project (MCP) rescue centre in Western Extension.
