Easter bunny hops in at the SPCA

Braving the cold, parents sipped on piping hot coffee while the little ones hunted for eggs.

Despite the threat of rain, kiddies arrived bundled up in their winter woollies in support of the Benoni SPCA’s annual Easter egg hunt on April 7.

Little bunnies ran and squealed with delight as they scoured every corner of the animal welfare organisation’s property in search of colourful rocks, representing a chocolatey delight.

Ready to hop into action are Layla Lombard (10), Kaia Redford (5), Sandra (10) and Charmaine Nkube.

Waving as they streaked passed the society’s furry residents, dogs barked with excitement, encouraging the young treasure hunters in their pursuit.

Community involvement events such as these form the corner stone for the local SPCA branch’s fundraising efforts, to ensure that it meets its monthly operational costs of R300 000.
