Women’s World Day of Prayer is dedicated to peace

Women commit to work for peace as they stand united in prayer.

Taking each other’s hands, women of faith raised their voices at the 94th Women’s World Day of Prayer (WWDP) held at the Salvation Army Benoni on March 1.

Under the theme, I beg you bear with another in love,’ Christian Palestinian women’s testimonies were read with the universal message being patience, courage and love.

Captain Zandile Mkhize is The Salvation Army Benoni’s administrator/corps officer.

First hosted in America in 1887, SA officially observed the inter-denominational mass prayer meeting in 1956.

Leading the programme, Major Margaret Stafford of the Salvation Army headquarters said that unifying in prayer can give strength to those facing hardships.

“The power of prayer cannot be ignored. Where we gather in the presence of God, miracles happen,” she said.
