Achievers get a head start

Learners from various schools in Daveyton are now armed with appliances and pots for university residences.

For six consecutive years, Sgela 1st has made a significant difference in the lives of young people in Daveyton amid tremendous economic challenges.

Three young professionals from Daveyton, the visionaries of Sgela 1st, have again this year donated a new kettle, an iron, and pots to matric achievers from various schools in the area.

The learners who attended the recent handover at Hulwazi Secondary are from Mabuya Secondary, Hulwazi Secondary, East Rand School of the Arts, Nyathi Secondary and Davey Secondary.

According to the Sgela 1st co-founder, advocate Tsatseng Rantsho, the donation aims to assist learners with the basic and overlooked necessities as they are about to start their tertiary education journey.

The organisation also focuses on motivational speaking and youth development to encourage learners to prioritise their schooling.
