Boksburg runners do well at Striders race
Mandla Mahlangu and Cian Oldknow won the main race while Dumisani Mahlangu and Leanne Mackay claimed the 15km race.
Boksburg Athletic Club runners Zachariah Mogotsi and Jabulani Gamede claimed gold medals while Hilton Hosmer finished fourth in their categories during the 53rd Springs Striders Road Race on January 21.
Mogotsi clocked 02:35:25 to claim the masters 60-69 32km title, finishing 31st overall. Mandla Mahlangu won the men’s main race in a time of 01:51:30 while Hollywoodbets AC runner Cian Oldknow claimed honours in the women’s race in 02:00:40.
Gamede was first in the same category in the 15km race after posting an impressive 01:00:08 to finish seventh overall.
Hosmer finished in 18th spot overall in the 15km but was fourth in his category as he completed the race in 01:11:34.
Dumisani Mahlangu was the first man at the finish in the 15km while Leanne Mackay won the women’s race.
Jonathan Diedricks and Kara Beytell won the 5km fun run.
