First matric class does school proud

Keketso Mthembu and Simba Tinotenda were the top achievers with six distinctions each.

The first matric class of Lee Rand High did their school proud after achieving 97.4% pass rate with 83 distinctions.
Keketso Mthembu and Simba Tinotenda were the school’s top achievers after both learners obtained six distinctions in last year’s NSC matric results.

Mthembu got distinctions in IsiZulu, life orientation, geography, life sciences, physical science and tourism while Tinotenda earned his in mathematics, tourism, life sciences, physical science, geography and life orientation.

SIX: Simba Tinitenda, Lee Rand High (mathematics, tourism, life sciences, physical science, geography and life orientation).

The school achieved a 100% pass for Afrikaans and business studies.

“We are super excited at the overall performance of our matriculants and the hard work that was put in by our teachers. In addition, we achieved full distinctions for IsiZulu and a 100% pass for Afrikaans.

“With the introduction of robotics this year, we feel this will add to the performance of our learners and we are pushing really hard to achieve a 100% pass rate for 2024,” said Principal Shan Naidoo.
