SPCA Cheer Fund raises R27 000

The purpose of the Christmas Cheer Fund is to raise funds to cater for the needs of all the furry friends at the Benoni SPCA.

The Benoni SPCA is grateful for the generous support received for the Christmas Cheer Fund.

Despite not reaching its target of R100 000, the society does have R27 168 in the coffers.

They had hoped to triple the amount in order to fulfil their wishlists for several projects, including buying a new washing line.

The previous year’s Christmas Cheer Fund raised R36 740.

General manager Jacques Cronje thanked everyone who donated.

“From the bottom of our hearts, we would like to thank everyone that supported us. We appreciate you more than words can say. All proceeds will be used to upgrade our cattery units,” said Cronje.

The donations opened early in November and ran until the first week of January.

The purpose of the Christmas Cheer Fund is to raise funds to cater for the needs of all the furry friends that need to be fed and to provide Christmas and New Year’s treats to destitute pets during this period.
