Some background

Benoni Camera Club is a non–profit club catering primarily to amateur photographers.

The club is open to anyone interested in the art and science of photography, regardless of background or profession.

Its origins lie in the English Electric Photographic Society, which voted to open membership to the public on March 1, 1956.

In the early days, there were few judges available on the East Rand, and the club affiliated with the Johannesburg Photographic Society, which guided the club’s development.
