Dan Triangle awards karatekas

The students won trophies, medals and certificates.

The Dan Triangle Karate Club awarded its best-performing students at a prize-giving ceremony in December.

The club’s chief instructor, sensei Chris Anthony, said the students were awarded for their hard work after their outstanding performances in various tournaments last year.

Kaylah Ackermann was the most improved junior student, while Natasha Ackermann received an accolade for the most improved and dedicated lower belt senior. Rebecca Ackermann was the most improved and dedicated junior.

Matthew Phillips was awarded for diligent and hard training in the youth category, while Gianluca del Gross and Cade Horn received awards for most improved and dedicated youths.

Erin Horn received a gong for dedication and hard training in the junior category. Michael van Hattum was the most dedicated senior, while Sky Kelly was awarded for dedication and hard training.

Shivani Padayachee also graded to black.

“I’m extremely proud of my students and look forward to another great year,” said Anthony.

The sensei said the club is open for 2024 and will welcome anyone who wants to join.
