Pug Rescue kicks off a ‘yappy’ festive season

The sanctuary celebrated yet another tail wagging good year.

Tails were wagging and ‘yappy’ barks rang out as Pug Rescue SA hosted its Jingle Pugs fundraiser on December 2.

Dressed in their festive best, supporters of the rescue organisation got into the Christmas spirit, showering the shelter with gifts and donations.

“This past year has been incredibly busy, with rescues of pugs happening across the country,” said Malcolm Gaw.

“It has also been exciting with extensions of the facility taking place on the neighbouring property. Acquisition of the property was made possible by a generous anonymous donor.”

Gaw said that despite the challenges, the facility has been able to continue offering quality care for the 200 flat-nosed residents at the sanctuary as well as 18 in the care of foster ‘pawrents’ because of overwhelming support for its fundraising initiatives.

“With the year slowly coming to an end, we want to take the opportunity to thank everyone who has continued to support us,” said Gaw.

Pug Rescue SA will be hosting its final Spoil a Pug event on December 9, during this event visitors will be assigned a furry friend to spoil and pamper throughout the morning.

This is a pug-only event and outside doggies will not be allowed.
