Garlands swing into the spirit of Christmas
Dancing, singing and having a good time, the Garlands celebrated the end of another successful year.
Jingle bells, jingle bells, jingle bells rocked when members and guests at the Garlands Ladies Luncheon Club did the twist to celebrate another successful year.
Cheerful chatter and joyful singing filled the Katse Room at Ebotse on November 23 when attendees raised their glasses at the social club’s last luncheon of this year.
Dressed in festive colours and tinsel draped around their necks, tables of ladies huddled together to put their Christmas knowledge to the test.
Microphone in hand, Louise Beastall played the part of quizmaster, using popular Christmas carols to test guests’ festive trivia.
Dickens, Presley and Sir Cliff Richard all appeared on quiz sheets, while some teams felt like a lump of coal for not remembering jolly St Nick’s postal address.
Despite some heated competition, one table was crowned the Christmas quiz champions and claimed bragging rights for the day.
With plates polished, the Garlands took to the dance floor, stomping their feet to Mango Groove and rocking out to Michael Jackson.
“We have had yet another phenomenal year with guest speakers who have entertained, enthralled and motivated us,” said Garland committee member Rhoda Toke.
“Most importantly, stronger friendships were fostered, and the presence of our members has contributed to our club celebrating 25 years of existence. We wish each one a blessed festive season.”
The club will meet again in January.
