Spurs CC grabs crucial wins

The club’s premier, reserves and third teams all won their matches.

Shaylen Pillay’s hard-fought unbeaten century guided Actonville Spurs CC to a 104-run victory against Etwatwa in the Eastern Premier League on November 19 at Lords Cricket Ground.

The batsman scored 102 off 128 runs to help his team bounce back from their loss against Kempton Park last week.

Wicket-keeper Kyle Degambur (45) and captain Shaveer Khan (34) got in on the action as Spurs posted 257/9 in 50 overs.

In response, Sabelo Mabanga grabbed three wickets, while Amaan Khan and Sinenhlanhla Zwane got two scalps apiece as Etwatwa were bundled out for 153 inside 41 overs.

Reserves League

Irfaan Hansloo’s match-winning spell with the ball and bat saw the Spurs reserves beat Etwatwa by 93 runs.

Hansloo scored 79 runs as he helped his team to 192 runs. With the ball, the all-rounder grabbed four wickets as Etwatwa were skittled out for 119.

Third league

In the third league, Spurs beat Elsburg by 112 runs as the home side was dismissed for 144 in their chase of 256.
