The two students came back from the KWF South Africa champs with a total of four medals.

The Dan Triangle Karate Club chief instructor, sensei Chris Anthony congratulated students Aubrey Shai and Christopher Thela after their medal-winning performances during the KWF South Africa Championships at the Portuguese Hall in Turfontein, on November 18.

Shai won a gold medal for kumite, a silver for kata and bronze for jiyu-ippon while the veteran Thela, who won his second gold medal at the KWF world championships last month, clinched a bronze for kumite.

“The guys continue to raise our flag high. I’m extremely proud of them,” said Anthony.
