The veteran’s association of the previously located 7 Med Regt SAA, a Benoni Regiment (1945 to 1960 and 1975 to 1991) want to establish the date of birth and death of Regimental Sergeant Major C A “Lofty” Laker, a long-time resident of Benoni.
The reason for this enquiry is to enable the inscription on a plaque to be completed and placed in his name on the Gunners Memorial remembrance wall, in acknowledgment of his long periods of past services to the regiment in this role.
At this stage, we are aware that his son (Brian Laker) and wife have both passed away.
