Three arrested for stock theft in Putfontein

The three suspects appeared in the Daveyton Magistrate’s Court on October 23

Three men were nabbed in Mokgoba Section in Putfontein over the weekend for possession of a suspected stolen cow.

According to district communications officer Captain Neldah Sekgobela, police received information about possible stock theft suspects around Putfontein.

“When police and the EMPD Task Team arrived at the given address, they found three men in possession of an unskinned carcass of a cow. They immediately arrested them,” said Sekgobela.

Sekgobela said the three suspects appeared in the Daveyton Magistrate’s Court on October 23, but the matter was not placed on the roll due to further instructions from the Public Prosecutor.

“The suspects were released but will be summoned once instructions are complete,” said Sekgobela.

Sekgobela said the lawful owner of the cow is yet to be identified.
