Music runs through my veins – Teekay Csa

The 26-year-old artist said he inherited his love for music from his late father Don Nene.

Daveyton hip-hop and Afro-pop artist Thokozani Tshilane, popularly known as Teekay Csa, is a producer and a co-founder of a developing record label.

Last year, he was featured in a US magazine, Voyage Savannah, for introductory coverage.

“My most streamed hit song on music charts is Tell ‘Em That I’m Ready, with 102 100 streams, followed by Fed Up with 26 034.”

“The artist I look up to is KO. He is so consistent and passionate about what he does and I see a lot of myself in him.”

The 26-year-old said he had been in the music industry for nine years and was the most streamed artist in Daveyton.

“I inherited the love for music from my late father Don Nene, who owned an establishing record company.

“My family’s musical background influenced me to pursue his love for music,” said Teekay Csa.

He advises budding artists to be honest with themselves, whether they have the skills for music or not.

“They must research the genre and the record label they want to sign into, be spiritually and mentally prepared for failure and always put God first in everything,” he said.

You can stream his music on YouTube and Spotify at TeeKay Csa/Marlyy Sa or follow him on Instagram and Facebook at Teekaycsa, CsaRecords and Marlyy Sa.
