Married? You can now enter Miss SA

The organisation is breaking the stereotypical prerequisites of the pageantry world.

Miss South Africa 2023 is flipping the pageant world on its head and widening its entry pool by allowing married women to enter this prestigious competition.

The organisers of the event call on dynamic women to follow in the footsteps of current Miss SA, Ndavi Nokeri, and represent the country on the international stage.

Members of the LGBTQIA+ community can also enter the first fully inclusive Miss SA pageant as it strives to remain relevant, current, fresh and abreast of the changing times.

This year, we have pushed more boundaries than ever before, and we are delighted to welcome all women who are ready to step onto our leadership platform to become the country’s next ambassador,” said the CEO of the Miss SA organisation, Stephanie Weil.

“The organisation is known globally as a pageant disruptor, challenging old precepts, constantly shifting the goalposts and making the competition more diverse and inclusive.”

Leading up to the finale, this year’s competition will include the seven-part ground-breaking reality TV series Crown Chasers.

The series will see contestants move into the Miss SA HQ and compete in various real-life pageant scenarios based on the organisation’s four pillars – duty, championship, empowerment and beauty.

“As women, we wear many hats from business owners, leaders, innovators, mothers and daughters to queens,” said Weil.

“Showcasing the multi-diverse nature of all of this will be at the core of the competition. Miss SA is no longer just a one-night pageant.

“Viewers are going to get to know the finalists during the show.”

The series will culminate with the live pageant finale when the winner is crowned.

Entries for this year’s pageant will close at 11:30 on May 5.

The entrants will need to post an introduction video on social media by using #MissSA2023 and tagging Miss SA and Crown Chasers on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and Twitter.
