Women unite in prayer

Women converged at the Benoni Baptist Church to participate in the Women’s World Day of Prayer.

Christian women from various denominations shared fellowship and prayer during the 93rd annual Women’s World Day of Prayer.

Joining hands in unity, attendees converged at this year’s host church, the Benoni Baptist Church, Farrarmere, on March 3.

The day is commemorated in 176 countries worldwide with the universal theme ‘I have seen your faith’ of Ephesians 1:15-16, which encourages everyone to renew and reconcile their faith in Jesus Christ, being observed.

Delivering the day’s message, Cindy Muhl, a member of the church, said that in times of crisis, communities often feel hopeless, looking to man for answers.

Women attending the service reaffirmed their faith in God, uniting in prayer for the good of all mankind.

“It is in times like these that we must look to God,” said Muhl.

“He may not solve the social ills that are plaguing our hearts, but He will give us hope and restore our faith.”

She said that as members of the fellowship of God, Christians must give thanks to one another, remembering that we are all fellow workers in Christ’s vineyard.

“Maintaining unity we must stand together as one family of the Lord,” she said.

With Taiwan being this year’s host country of the day of prayer, the worship booklet and prayer programme was compiled by some of the Asian country’s spiritual leaders under the guidance of the international committee.

The booklet contained information regarding Taiwan’s diversity, and religious growth and paid homage to some of the country’s women who have overcome great adversity.
