These roads will lead riders to the Toy Run

More than 20 000 riders are expected to participate in the annual mass ride

We are counting down the days to the 40th annual Toy Run Gauteng, on November 27.

Local riders are set to depart from Carnival City at 09:00, making their way to Benoni Northerns Sports Club along with dedicated marshals.

The convoy will travel on the N17 towards Rondebult Road, in Boksburg from which they will make use of Pretoria Road to the R21 heading past the OR Tambo International Airport.

Making use of the Atlas Road off-ramp, riders will proceed to Great North Road making use of Hospital Road, followed by Hanekam Street into the sports grounds.

Members of the public are cautioned that right-of-way will be given to bikers who form part of the mass ride and that marshals and EMPD members will be on-site to direct traffic.

Route from Carnival City to the Benoni Northerns Sports Club.

Riders are encouraged to participate in the mass rides departing from the following locations:
• Irene Village Mall

• The Blockhouse

• Carnival City

• Silverstar Casino

Friends and families following in vehicles are urged to go directly to the Benoni Northerns sports grounds to ensure that the mass rides consist only of bikes thus easing congestion.

“We urge residents and riders to please follow all instructions from traffic officials as all measures have been put in place to ensure motorist and rider safety,” said Pete Baird, organiser and chairperson of the trust.

“Intersections and roads leading to the sports grounds will be temporarily affected from 09:15 to 10:00 after which traffic will return to normal.

“We do not intend to frustrate residents or motorists during this time as we all gather for a good cause.”
