BFS arrest suspect at Lakeside Mall

A 38-year-old man was arrested in Lakeside Mall on August 11 after assaulting and attempting to disarm a Benoni Flying Squad (BFS) officer.

According to Warrant Officer Grant Giblin, BFS spokesperson, members responded to a call at a clothing store where staff claimed a robbery was in progress.

“Upon arrival, members discovered that the suspect was severely aggressive and was intimidating the staff,” he said.

“He then turned his aggression to the officers. Following an intense struggle, he was placed under arrest.”
