Facts about Africanis

• This breed of dog is only one of three southern African recognised breeds.

• Africanis was officially recognised as a breed in 1988.

• These canines are believed to have evolved from Egypt and dates back to 4 500 BC.

• Due to its survival throughout Sub-Saharan Africa this breed is robust and generally healthy.

• Africanis are highly intelligent and love solving puzzles. They will often create problems in order to find a solution.

• They have short and manageable coats.

• They are medium to large breeds, weighing between 25 and 45kg.

• Africanis are loyal, social and great companions for children.

• This breed is known for being non-aggressive.
