Possession of drugs
Members of the Benoni Flying Squad (BFS) arrested a man on charges of being in possession of drugs on July 12.

He was found in Station Road, Brakpan. Mandrax was confiscated.

Recovery of a stolen vehicle
Following up on information received from a local security company, BFS members found a silver Suzuki Jimny which had been reported as stolen in Edenvale at a home in Daffodil Street, Farrarmere.

“On July 13, we received information that a suspected stolen vehicle had been identified on a local security company’s digital patrolling system,” said Warrant Officer Grant Giblin, BFS spokesperson.

“Members were dispatched to the address and found the vehicle parked in the garage. The three occupants of the house were arrested and charged with being in possession of a stolen vehicle.”

Trespassing
Two suspects were arrested in Sixth Avenue, Northmead, on July 13.

The resident of the home alerted a local security company that two men were inside the property.

House robbery
A domestic worker was held at gunpoint and was assaulted when four men gained access to the Kipling Street, Farrarmere, property on July 13.

According to Captain Nomsa Sekele, spokesperson for the Benoni SAPS, the men used crowbars to break the front door open, after which they proceeded to tie the victim up.

“The suspects ransacked the home searching for a safe as well as jewellery,” she said.

“They made off with various items including two TV sets, a laptop, tablet, clothing and other valuable. No further information is available.”
