The Etwatwa police are calling on anyone with information to come forward after a local farmer from Etwatwa discovered a lifeless body of a one-month-old child on May 5 at Thulani Section.
According to the Etwatwa SAPS spokesperson Sgt Khensani Mathebula, the farmer told the police that he noticed a dumped black refuse bag in the veld on May 3 but he didn’t look inside it until two days later.
“He discovered the body of a child with burn wounds, seemingly from boiling water. The body was taken to a government mortuary,” said Mathebula.
A murder case has been opened at the Etwatwa Police Station.
