Pug Rescue exceeds target

The organisation held this event to celebrate president and founder Cheryl Gaw’s 60th birthday

Pug Rescue South Africa exceeded its target of R60 000 at the Sixties fund-raiser held on May 7 at Benoni North Agricultural Holdings.

The organisation hosts regular fund-raisers to pay vet bills and buy dog food.

The fund-raiser was held to celebrate president and founder Cheryl Gaw’s 60th birthday. The venue was lit up by attendees who were dressed up in their swinging 60s attire.

“This month’s yappy fund-raiser was themed ‘sixties’ as one of our founders, Cheryl Gaw turned 60. We set a target of R60 000 and this was exceeded. Thanks to all the donors, supporters and visitors,” said co-founder Malcom Gaw.

Grethe Rademan and Janine Nortjè (Cape Town pug rescue representatives) with Chryl Gaw (Pug Rsecue SA president and founder) and Lezelle Mills (Pug Rescue SA fundraiser).

Malcolm added that the Pug Rescue doggy park is open every Saturday from 09:00 until 13:00 for small breed socialised and sterilised dogs.

The organisation will host a painting fund-raiser on May 14 at its sanctuary at 80/1 Nielsen Road, Benoni North AH.
